Brookhaven Cat Hospital was established in June 2003 to provide specialized feline medical and surgical care on long island, NY.
In November 2008, Brookhaven Cat Hospital became the first veterinary facility in NY state to be accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association as a Feline Specialty Referral Hospital.
Brookhaven Cat Hospital relocated in December 2009 from Coram, NY. to East Setauket, and continues to provide the very best care for its patients. |
Patient care at Brookhaven Cat Hospital is conducted in a clean, calm, professional environment. Every effort is made to make the visit or stay at the hospital stress free for the patient and client.
The professional staff is dedicated to provide the best care available for the patients. Preventive medicine is stressed, and work ups are thorough. The medical records are computerized for easy storage, retrieval and enhanced imaging. |
The Founder and Hospital Director is Dr. B. Anthony Nanton BSc. DVM. DABVP ( Feline )
Dr Nanton is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the University of Ibadan. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Board Certified in Feline Practice.
Dr Nanton is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association, and Long Island Veterinary Medical Association of which he is a past president.
He is a pet parent of two domestic shorthair rescue cats, Chad and Marilyn, as well as the resident hospital cats. |

Hospital Manager of Brookhaven Cat Hospital is Barbara A Pellegrino LVT. Barbara is a graduate of the Suffolk County Licensed Veterinary Technician Program, and is a member of NAVTA, the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America. She is the parent to 2 cats, Tiger a domestic shorthair, and Bella, a Sphinx. |

Cheryll has been an integral part of the Brookhaven Cat Hospital since she first came aboard. A mother of three children and owner of four cats , she brings years of experience to the Brookhaven Cat Hospital having been manager of an award winning multi-million dollar store and office manager of a large emergency/specialty veterinary hospital on the east end of Long Island. Working at the Brookhaven Cat Hospital has been a truly enjoyable experience for her and she looks forward to being a part of the hospital as it continues to prosper. |
Visitors to the hospital are greeted by our staff and also by the resident cats, Princess Peneope, Rose, Maggie, Violet and Daisy for whom the hospital is home. These cats were all rescued stray kittens when they came to live at the hospital in 2003 |
